Hey everyone! I’m Trumpatier, formerly known as Trumpimp. I like having fun, especially when that involves building my own creations! If you’re a fun-addict too, head to my Projects page where you can watch videos and tutorials for my inventions, and then head to the Shop to pick up materials to make them yourself! Also feel free to check out our awesome featured creators! Or, if you feel like reading random information about some guy you don’t know, you can view below where I’ve answered some basic questions that you might have:
First, what does my name mean?
It’s funny you should ask. My original name of Trumpimp was a bit of an inside joke. However, I’ve recently reinvented myself as Trumpatier due to epiphanies that my old alias might not be too appropriate or respectful. Trumpatier came to me as a great solution: It involves the word trumpet, which I used to play in school (best instrument ever). I also fancy the made-up word Trumpeteer. Trumpeter is the word for someone that plays the trumpet, but trumpeteer sounds so much cooler. But instead of spelling the incorrect word.. correctly, I became Trumpatier because names with multiple meanings are awesome. Trump + a + tier: I strive to create things that have higher levels of quality and awesomeness than similar inventions, if they exist. However, every idea that I bring to life thus far is one that stems from my own wandering mind, and not merely a copy of others.
What kind of stuff do I do?
I make videos of everything that I deem YouTube-worthy. This includes fun projects you can do at home, video games, and other fun or awesome things. I enjoy experimenting, and many amazing projects are planned for the future.
How did I start with all the mini bow and arrow/ crossbow stuff?
As funny as it may sound, it all started with boredom. It began about 15 years ago, when I was 12 years old. My parents weren’t letting me do anything fun like playing outside or playing video games. I already had a plastic lollipop stick and some string, so I made a miniature flexible bow. I then made an arrow from some wood dowels I had using the same arrow guidance design that I created for some lawn darts that I had made a while before that. My designs at the founding of my new hobby were rudimentary; the bow had a paper strip on it so it could be shot horizontally instead of like a normal bow. The reason for this was that the arrows had 3 paper vanes on them, and the arrow wouldn’t fire straight if I held the bow vertically because one of the arrow vanes would hit my finger. The arrows were also not the best quality; they consisted of 2 mini wood dowels held together only by a strip from an index card. The arrows would often snap in half when they hit a solid target. I began putting thumbtack pins on the ends of them using a paper strip and glue, which also broke quite often. I put the mini archery hobby aside for a while, coming back to it every now and then and making improvements. Once I began making YouTube videos, I resumed my hobby. Now my arrows are made from a single mini dowel, and nails inside the end of the arrow have replaced the unreliable thumbtack pins. They are fired by holding the bow vertically now, too. Back then I also made miniature crossbows, and over the years they have significantly improved in materials used and in design. I have now made a total of 6 differently designed miniature crossbows in total, 4 of which can be found on my YouTube channel.
Why did I begin making videos for YouTube?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been an entrepreneur. During my middle school years, I wanted to make money by selling my miniature bows and arrows. I also operated a balloon-popping minigame at a craft fair where people had to pop balloons with my mini bow and arrow or mini crossbow to win prizes. Back then, both of those attempts weren’t very successful, so several years later I figured that I could teach everyone how to make the miniature projects for themselves and be benefited by that.
What are my plans for the future?
I’m going to demonstrate how to make all of my inventions, and continuously improve their designs. I’ll also be expanding the scope of my YouTube channel to include a wider variety of topics. Awesome stuff will be coming soon!
